By any chance you didn't happen to put the hoses on the heater core tubes and then twist or remove them did you??
If you did you may have possibly broke the soldier joint and the tube is no longer attached to the heater core.
I wonder how I would know that?
Yep.... it's a brand new heater core that it happened to.

when i have the heater on the seep hole has air coming out of it now... but no more coolant. Tomorrow i'll take it on a freeway run and see what happens
is there supposed to be air coming out of the peep hole when blower is on????

A little bit of air will come out, because air has to blow over the core to make heat, so air will be flowing thru that hole as well. DOUBLE CHECK the 2 hoses going into the firewall. I did my heater core, and didnt tighten my hose clamps all the way, still had the leak.. Got pissed off and tore the whole dash off to replace the "busted core" AGAIN and noticed my hoses were just loose..
