I had them both and own them both.

I have drove both kinds as a daily driver.

The 4.6L are great daily drivers.

The ones kicking down on the 4.6L do not know how simple it is to work on the engine. I did a complete PI Headswap for $400, gaskets and all.

The 5.0 has alot more aftermarket parts. I got the 4.6 because i wanted to try something different. Kind of makes it more of a challenge. lol.

there is really no comparison the 5.0 is a better motor.

1. easier to mod

2. alot more torque with pushrod style

3.doesnt need a blower to make power

4. the 4.sh*ts don't have the reliability and performance that the 5.0 has in the high mileage range

sha you wish, i've seen plenty of tickets on 96+ stangs with 100,000+ miles with complaints of lack of performance/weak acceleration issues at the dealership on a weekly basis. and nothing is wrong with the motor.they just can't hold up to the power of the windsor block. Bottom line is romeo 4.6's suck and can't make power in the long run that's probably why you see 1996+ 4.6's (2v or 4v) with that many miles bottom out of power quick and you see fox/sn95's take a beating for well over that mark stil whoopin peeeps all day without a problem. the 5.0 is trademark of reliability

i know that my buddys car, 95gt 150k miles, heads and intake and a vortec, beats on that car like no other, will spin if he floors it below 40-45mph (4.10's and nitto's) all on the stock bottom end, he said hes suprised its held up this long.

sure when you have 200k miles on a motor, it gets a little tired, get some blowby and you lose a few ponies, the 302/351 still keeps a rolling, wont be as fast as the day it was assembled, but still strong, not sure about the 4.6/5.4, but i dont think they will act the same, i have a 4.6 in my daily beater, total of 252,000 on the shortblock, about 102k since it was rebuilt, i dont think its down on power, and its been a damn reliable car. (94 towncar) ran a 16.1 @86
