just wondering what mods I would need to beat an lt1 trans am, 6 speed with headers, full exhaust, and intake...I was guessing I would need headers, full exhaust, gt-40 heads(ported), and maybe a small shot of NOS?(75)what do you guys think??

The LT1 is nothing special. They have good low end torque but are wheezy on the top end. With that said, I think you could take him with some gears sticky tires and just the 75 shot.

I have 3.90 gears right now with AOD tranny...so, just some sticky's and nos ...hmmm

I just realized you have a slushbox. Get a shift kit for that thing and up the nitrous to a 100 shot, along with the tires.If you can drive, then you can beat him

LT1s are drivers races with a new edge, who ever said they are junk is on crack. Like NoGo95GT said they have awsome low end and not too much of a top end(really similar to a 5.0[&:]) so if you can get him out of the hole you might be able to manage to stay ahead untul the end of the race. I would say a bolt on fox with a set of DRs and maybe a 75 shot would put him away pretty handily.

My buddy with bolt ons best time was a 14.3, then he let me drive i launched at 10 different rpms and ripped his gears like i was runnin from the cops best time i pulled was a 14.1... he was on street tires might i add, hopefully the 1 u are racin is too cause if so ur in luck
