I have a 1988 Saleen GT California Addition and I am trying to find out if it is worth anything. It has 44000 miles, it needs wheels, tires, a little body work and paint.

The car has little to no collector value. Sounds like it's in ruff condition so Maybe $4000 because of the milage. A photo of the entire car would probably help with the guesstamates. I'd probably just start a new thread also vs bumping a very old one that was started by someone else.

I had a 89 california edition for a few yrs there where rumors that there were only 50-100 made, and they were all built out of the Petaluma California Ford dealership as a add on package to try and boost sales, I tried to contact them but they kept giving me the runaround so I was not able to dig up much information other than they were all debuted at the Sears point Raceway, all where white with moon roof, they were basically a stock 5.0 Gt. With the race craft suspension and a Hurst shifter, unfortunately they are not Vin verifiable so as for now the collectibility/value is very low but that might turn around in the future you just never know

Default I looked at a California Special back in 1989

I looked at a California Special when I was buying my GT. It had twin turbos on a 5.6 liter engine. It had the racing suspension and gold BBS rims in 16 inches. It also had California Special' in script on the rear deck. It was a nice car.

Watch out for Fakes, I saw one in the Northbay Santa Rosa area a couple of weeks ago and it had fake badges all around, he put Plaques on. There suppose to be that special California green that ford uses with black letters as well. I sold mine a couple years ago to a kid in the South Bay, I've seen one at Sonoma raceway (Sears point) and one in the concord area since then, wish i didn't sell it but I became a dad and needed something safe. Hope to find one again in the future
