Well I use to run Valvoline 20-50 race oil but it is getting hard to find. so when I put a oil pump in the new set up was S/C now turbo. I use to have very high oil press (100 psi+)the other new pump had a bad press. relief valve.I went with Valvoline 10-30 also so as to try not to push the seals out of the turbo and not run a oil restricter on the turbo oil feed. when the thing would get good and hot after hrs of street driving my oil press would drop almost to 5psi. with the light oil so I went back to a heavy oil and something that was good with the turbo and so it is I went with the Rotella it works great in my Power Stroke so why not the car. You know I have not had problems since with the press. dropping off. I think the turbo is over heating the oil a bit even with a 7qt pan. But I grew up around race guys when I was younger running the Valvoline 20-50. So I did when the old motor blew it had 31/2 years of HARD running and I mean HARD when I looked at the bearings well what was left they still looked new. So I have been hooked on the heavy oil ever since. don't know if it makes a difference in the bearing wear or if its in my head but it is what it is. So why change what works?

i use castrol H.M. and a fram filter. change it every 3,000 like clock work. My dad uses Walmart Super Tech in his Ram 1500, miata, and moms grand prix, the vettes and camaro he uses castrol though. We never have had a problem. Sometimes walmart will have a 2 pack of 5qt castrol jugs for a special price, oil has come down but when the singles were 18.00 i got a two pack for 26.00!
