I currently bought a set of Dynomax Racing Bullets and the box stated they was 2 1/2 but was actually 2 1/4 (swap meet....should have measured to make sure) but my ? is has anyone ran the 2 1/4 on a mustang and how does it sound and will the 2 1/4 be to small for my 89 lx 302?

I would get 2 1/2 because if you put on the 2 1/4 you will always wish you went 2 1/2. Sell those 2 1/4 on ebay or something.

i run 2.5" on my car. they sound pretty good but they are really loud. i dont have cats tho

We also have the 2.5", FYI I had to rent a tail pipe expander to fit them onto my flow tubes, it was really a tight fit. I also have no cats so it's loud.

Just trim the pipe off until you get to where it will be 2 1/2 and then weld on a 2 1/2 inch pipe. Bam you have that instead of 2 1/4's.
