Do you drive your 5.0 in the snow?
I was just wondering how many pepole actually use their 5.0 in the snow. I was wondering if getting snow tires in the back would help, or are they just useless on mustangs? I live in pittsburgh, and there is always snow or slush on the road. Im always on the edge of my seat while driving, because u can feel the slightest slide happening. But fortune has it that i have not wrecked yet. (knock on wood). I always keep a 80LB of salt in the back hatch area for a little more traction, but its only a tiny bit. Any advice for me on driving in the snow. Im 17, and this was the only car i could get for the amount of money i had, and i have to drive as it is the only car i can use.

I drive my 5.0 in the snow and im in the same situation as you. Im 18 and this is all i could afford for what i wanted. I have 100 lbs of salt in the back and it helps a little. I had 200 and all it did was make the front end push in corners. I have a manual so i just start in 2nd a lot. There really is nothing we can do. I live in Michigan and the snow has been horrible this winter. Just enjoy drifting and try not to hit anything.

Nah, I store mine for the winter. I'm 19 and going to school and I was fortunate enough to get my parents mini van for the winter. It shows pretty bad up here in Ontario for most of it, so my parents weren't about to argue. My buddy who is doing his co-op at Ford said one of the guys there has about 3 5.0L's and drive his notch in the winter. +1 on the weight in the back, and I dont know about you cause it's illeagal here but i've seen a few people on these forums using tire chains, so that'll help you get some more traction

dude F!! that lol i dont even drive in the rain .. dont even have wipers on the car haha.... but if its really bad and you can take alot of air out of the tires ... if you drop the psi between 10 and 20 you should get better traction ...
