Let me first say how cool it is to find another vehicle forum where everyone seems really cool with everyone else.
Now...here's the actual thread
My best friend and I are planning/considering building a turbo system for his '90 Mustang. I have a lot of experience with mid-'80s turbo and Shelby Dodge cars as well as tons of experience building and racing cars. I don't however have a ton of experience with Mustangs (actually that should read: I don't have any experience with Mustangs ). I know all the principles of turbo systems, how to build them, the need for fuel, ... all the stuff that has to go into any turbo system. What I was hoping to get was some assistance or advice on is the electronics end of things. The cars I am used to working with do not use MAF and have very rudimentary computers that can be easily fooled. In some cases though, our community has had to socket our computers on our own and create/burn our own chips because there is no aftermarket support. I know there is tons of support for Mustangs.
Here's what I know about the car (1990 5.0). It was raced a lot by the previous owner and has these mods already: larger injectors, headers and exhaust, roll cage (not a power upgrade but I thought i should mention it), CAI, functional ram-air style fiberglass hood. Those are all the items I can think of right now.
We are considering a twin turbo setup but have not ruled out a single turbo setup if that will work out better. He knows he wants to go faster and wants a turbo system not a blower. Other than that, we are open to suggestions. If anyone can help us shed some light on the pitfalls to watch out for and any/all of the electronics upgrades necessary, we would be greatly greatly appreciative.

If he has a stock production block in the car, it may be safer for him to run a single turbo around a 60mm. It should be enough to put the car into the 10's easy in the quarter mile. Upgrade the fuel system to a 255lph fuel pump, I'm not sure but a larger than stock injector will be needed, depending on how much boost is being run. I have a friend who runs a single turbo on a stock ECM, or to my knowledge it hasn't been burnt/tuned, I don't know. But it's not that bad to put a kit on a 90 model, there is tons and tons of aftermarket support for this. There is another forum that's called turbomustangs or something like that, it would probably be a good idea if you all went and checked them out as well.
