Default Tire and Rim storage without dry rot!!!

As some people probablly already i know i had a thread going asking a million questions about wheels. After its all said and done i finally ordered them, and just wanna say thanks to everyone that posted. Anyways wheres the best place to store my old tires and rims without them getting dry rotted, or ruined? My choices are an outdoor shed that gets pretty hot in the summer, and a basement that if it rains alot will get a lil water? thanks again to anyone that responds!

i would say just make yourself up some sort of shelf or whatever to get them off the floor, and just keep them in the basement. cool, dark, less humid would be better than outside in hot humid shed, imho.

build a shelf and keep them side by side, or stack them on top of each other?

Let the air out of them and stack them up on top of each other in a dry place. With the air out of them they won't expand and contract with changes in air pressure. Set the bottom tire on a couple of 2X4 strips so air can pass under the tire and keep the water off the tire in the basement. I stored a set of wheels I took off my new 74 Corvette for 20 years like that and the tires were still in nice shape with no dry rot.
