just came back from the dyno
a local shop was holding a dyno day, 3 pulls for $40 and all the bbq you can eat. they had an above ground dyno with dual rollers instead of the usual single roller embedded into the floor. i was hoping for 450rwhp and 450rwtq with the low boost setting. they strapped my car down from behind but because the dyno was above ground, the straps went downward, more then they went backward (like they should have). i only got one pull because my car made so much tq, it was driving up the front roller and trying to jump off the dyno. so the bad news is i only got one pull from about 2500rpm to 3000rpm. keep in mind that the software they are using is Australian so it doesnt measure rwtq, it calculates flywheel torque. and it was like a mustang dyno that puts load on the car so they said the numbers were about 5% lower then it would have been on a dynojet. anyways, the good news is that at 3000rpm i made 298rwhp and 610 flywheel torque. the torque line from about 2700rpm to 3000rpm was almost a straight line up. it was pretty bada$$ to watch the car jump up and pull forward when the torque hit. some one got it on video, they said they email it to me so hopefully ill get that soon. the dyno tuner said with a set of slicks and traction, when i start running boost the car should go into the 9s and do wheelies so im happy. so in the end, i found out my car is a torque monster, they didnt charge me anything cause i didnt even get one full pull and i got a free bbq meal.

Those are some great numbers for that low rpm, especially that torque. My pop's 67 Chevelle SS dynoed 518rwtq just off idle(496 c.i.). It hits hard. Although, weren't you saying your car takes off lazily at the strip? I'd think you'd be blazing through the tires. Bet you can't wait to see what it makes on more than 6psi!

and that dyno "pull", the motor spiked 10psi for an instant and then settle at 8psi. i wanted to get some solid 10psi pulls but i didnt even get one full pull. ill have to play with the boost controller more to get it to even out
