Daily driving with skinnies?

My mustang is actually my second car, my dd is a nissan sentra.
One of my buddies was getting onto me about driving with the skinnies around town, so I wanted to see what the forum guys think. =)

Well, your medium to higher speed handling will obviously be reduced... and since the front brakes do most of the work, if you need to stomp your brakes or stop quickly, your front wheels may lock up rather than have enough traction to keep spinning.
I'm not sure, but you may catch some heat from cops, on the other hand, it may be perfectly legal.

The main thing I'd be concerned about is the stuff you can't prepare for that you might have to stop fast or turn hard to avoid. I'll probably never drive on the road with shinnies though so i really don't know, I think it looks stupid on street cars.

I am running semi skinnies on the front of mine. 15X5 on the front with 155/80R/15 tires. Still safe and has the illuison of skinnies

Well it won't really cause you to brake slower, but if your brake friction overcomes your tire friction(which is reduced by having less traction) then your wheels will lock up... and then your sliding. It's all in the physics baby.

Keep a sharp eye on braking and watch pot holes. I've driven around on skinnies for years. As of now I went a different route on the car with 9" wide up front but will end up with some Billet Specialties I'm sure.
