Default gotta beat this Grand National....

I have a 89 hatchback. i have a stock motor exept headers, ingition, pullys. i built my drivetrain tho, its got steel flywheel, centerforce clutch, rebuilt superduty zspec, aluminum drive shaft, and pro 5.0 shifter.it was a auto but i swapped it to a manual. i have 373s and metco adjustable uppers and lowers going in soon. what do i need to beat these guys?

i guess it depends on how much $$ you want to spend lol. nitrous is an option, but i'm too scared to run it on my car. you could spend 2 grand on a nice h/c/i setup but then you'll need a tune. you could get on ebay and buy some gt40 heads and intake and get a nice cam to go with it. or go to a jukyard and get the heads and intake etc. off of a 5.0L explorer since they are identical to a 5.0L cobra. i have found some good deals on superchargers on ebay too i'm done rambling now...

well, i know the basics im looking for someone whose done a solidproof combo that gets them in the low 12s. i was looking at the 1.8 kb for 5.0 think thatd do it?

depends if the grand national is all stock, if so just a good suspension set up , good driving and good launch

Nice looking car, I wouldn't focus on outrunning one car. You will end up spending a ton of money. Come up with a plan and do the best you can within your time and means.

dont realli need a tune for h/c/i
