good turbo set up with different intake or supercharged motor with aftermarket intake will both net you 400+ to the wheels.

all you need other than that is supporting fuel mods.

This is not going to be a cheap game at all...
I'd get a Dart block, forged interals 100% to start with.
Get some Trick-flow heads and then get ready to spend lotsa $$$ at the machine shop.
400 HP/maybe about $15.00 per HP if you get my drift............

I have ported E7's, 51014 Lunati cam, Edelbrock Performer intake and a Vortech V2 SQ making about 12 psi, all on a stock short block. I made 397 RWHP on a Mustang dyno. IMO you will need some kind of forced induction, unless you go with a 347 and a real good H/C/I combo.

Blower is easiest. Getting an honest 400hp out of a 302 isn't easy(read cheap), it can be done out of a 347 without much difficulty, but also not easy(cheap).

Cam, GT40's and a turbo.

and a new clutch and tranny after he makes two passes with it, then a complete new suspension if he wants any launch and a built rearend after he realizes he`s got a bad case of the one wheel peel...
