I would at least try and talk to them....if everything unfolded as you state I don't see how the "grease goob" that did your alignment can blame you for something he forgot to install......now with that being said the only thing you should have to pay for is the install of the jam nuts if he didn't charge you for such in the first place..as long as your bill doesn't currently reflect a charge for work not performed....the redo of the alignment should be done at no charge IMO

Hmmmm, make me wonder what type of operation that place is. Now I realize not everyone follows the same protocol, but when I do an alignment, THE FIRST thing I do is lube the threads on the tie rods and loosen the jam nuts. This saves me the trouble of finding out later when I'm sitting on the concrete under the car getting ready to make that adjustment that they are frozen. Regardless, this is def something that should have been noticed prior to aligning the car.

If you paid by cc, you could dispute the charge. Not sure if you would get it back. I still fail to see how you paid for a 4 wheel alignment though. Was this recommended or did you ask for one?

no, not at all, it was a middle aged guy, who was ultra defensive because hes probably used to covering his ass. The person that did the scheduling and that wrote down everything I wanted done doesn't know anything about cars. He pumps gas and sits next to other people vehicles and acts tough. I met him after the work was done. he's a fool.

PRO - my new mechanic, not the one were talking about, said that too. But this idiot said the jam nuts were the last thing he goes for. I felt like that was bullsh*t. He was just taking my money. Also, the four wheel alignment - I didn't care to pay that bc I knew they gave superb/honest alignments, and thats what I needed.

bottom line - I'm gonna go back to writing things down myself (even typing/printing)
