I have a used Vortech S-trim complete kit, I also have a real nice intake, 42# injectors, Mass air meter and power pipe. All is still installed on running engine.
Let me know if you want pictures or prices.

That's a good deal. Yes, you will need the connector unless you already have an aftermarket MAF. Also, you may need an adapter to connect to your airfilter aft of the Lightning MAF(connects from the MAF to the filter).

but i heard the power pipes are the way to go with a s/c

instead of the lightning maf, get a c&l power pipe, anderson or whatever company you chose and get 42lb and calibrated

right now im running stock 19lb injectors and maf with a mac fenderwell intake

4FA218-010L 1986-1993 Mustang 5.0L V-3 SCi-Trim Standard (low-boost) System

or should i step it up one kit for higher boost for a grand more? Part Number: 4FA218-040L

thats the system have in mind to start with until i have money to upgrade it, i just like the idea of the internally lubbed so no lines to deal with and easy fluid change

Yes the AFM Powerpipe is a great mod. I picked up 6psi from adding one(the 94-95 intake tract is very restrictive). The only downside is the price: $250. The UPR Boostmaster pipe works just as well, but is only $130 and not as nice looking. Yes, you can go with the C&L. The only downside is they can be a pain to get tuned and the inlet diameter is smaller, 80mm I believe. I have used the stock MAF(calibrated to work with my injectors), a Summit 75mm MAF(made by Pro-M) and the 90mm Lightning MAF. The Lightning MAF has been by far the best MAF. Plus it is capable of handling lots of horsepower. Many 4.6 owners swaer by them. The only problem is you have to get it tuned properly to make it work. It is not a plug n' play MAF. And as for the adapter, the MAF and airfilter are the last components to the AFM powerpipe or stock SC intake system. The system goes: 1) intake tubing 2) MAF 3) Airfilter

You will be satisfied with the low boost kit. If you want more power add a powerpipe and a smaller SC pulley. On an 8 rib setup, a powerpipe, 2.95 SC pulley and V2 Vortech will net you around 15psi or 140rwhp w/equal torque. The low boost kit will net you 5psi. I think the pulley is a 3.33 SC pulley and 6 rib setup(not positive though). Start off small, and build your way up. There is nothing like the feeling of boost.

As far as the Lightning Maf, my tuner said he would rather work with Ford electronics, rather than the aftermarket mafs. He got the pmas working pretty good so, anything will probably work if the tuner is good enough.

Just don't buy a meter cal'd for a supercharger.

Hey Tim, how are you liking the boost? I am willing to bet the Kennebell hits hard!

Ok sorry for all the questions but im learning as i go but thanks alot NoGo95GT for the info =)

Here it is im trying to put a list together for now to price out for a starter kit so im going with a V3 Vortech internally lubricated low boost for now, what other items should i purchase

i can spend on the afm power pipe just don't know which one is the part #AF-0101C the one that will be best for my setup? http://www.andersonfordmotorsport.co.../pipes-50.html

Is the power pipe the pipe from the throttle body to the S/C or the fender well to the S/C i can't really tell by the pictures

List:

V-3 SCi-Trim Standard (low-boost) System, Part Number: 4FA218-010L
42lb Injectors
SCT Mustang 4-Bank Eliminator Chip
?
?
?
?

Also few little questions, i will be installing the s/c myself doesnt seem like it will be to difficult, but will i be able to drive it to the dyno to get a safe tune for it? Or can i get SCT to tune a temporary with the details on my setup so its safe for me to get to the dyno?
