I purchased a car that has a complete custom fiberglass dash and the vin plate is missing. Can anyone tell me where all on a 89 Fox Hatch the vin is stamped into the car? Also, with title and proper documentation will Ford or DOT or someone reissue the missing plate for a fee?? Thanks in advance.

the vin number is not riveted to the dash, its on the firewall. and if you cant verify its stolen or not good luck

I believe the VIN is also stamped along the frame rails, not sure though

Can you be a little more specific?? You say it is on the firewall, so is it possible I can drop the dash down a little and it still be attached? The frame rail locations are really what I am interested in. Seems like they might be easier to get to.
I know the heritage of the car all the way back to the original owner and have title in hand.

Theres a vin tag on the radiator support on the drivers side. Just in front of the radiator. I think it was a vin tag...
