Angry i'm so irked right now

i'm calling around for a customer of mine. who blew their motor in a 95 v6 mustang. he wants to swap to a 302.

anyways to the point. im calling around for the cheapest 302sbf i can find and rebuild it. i call this junk yard and i said "i see you have a 1990 sbf302 and a 87sbf 302, it doesnt note how many miles are on it, can you just let me know how many miles are on it."

-"oh, well what you puttin it in"

"ummm, kind of beside the point...but its a 95 mustang"

-"oh that motor wont fit"

"what?"

-"yea they arent the same, it wont fit"

"buddy, i work on these cars everyday, i know for a fact they fit. the body style is different, sure...but the motor, which is all im after, fits. ford placed a pushrod 302 up to 95, then switched to the 4.6 modular motor in '96...so all i want to know, is how many miles are on these motors in your yard"

**click** wtf?!

ok so now im mad...i call back and get someone different, "i need a manager or supervisor on duty right now"

**transfer**

"you've reach the voicemail...."

so i leave a message, basically i stated, "i called in for milage on a 87 and 90 sbf motor, i was then asked what it was going into. this is beyond the point of the phone call, but i answered him. you're employee is then trying to have a quizical battle over if a '87 or '90 sbf302 fits in a 94-95 mustang. he never stated his name and he hung up on me after i told him i work on this stuff for a living. i will bet you that motor, that i am right, that it will fit into a 1995 mustang since it is one of their production motors. i'd appreciate a call back when you get a moment. thank you. my name *****" all that jazz for contact info i left.

so he calls me back,

"hi this is mike supervisor here at trails end"

anyways i explain to him all the issues, he knows what i was saying is correct, he is goign to figure out who i was talkin to since there is only 3 guys working that day. i said "it was some gruffy voiced guy who barely speaks at an audible volume on the phone" he laughs and says he knows who it is.

then the guy attempts to sell me the motor so i just say, yea for not knowing the condition of the motor, 550 is a little much.

"oh we can work a deal. ill figure up a price and call you back"

i dont get people...

And now you do. Seriously though, bring in pics of your engine build and front frame replacement, they'll never doubt your knowledge or skills again.

Rule Number 1- People are stupid!
Remember that and things seem to go smoother lol.
I can get 302 long blocks for $150 all day long here from the junk yard. You should go there in person and ask the question again and see if the same guy talks to you lol.
