If I had a vert, I'd be yanking that 5.0 out and putting a 351 in there instead. The extra torque will help. Just what I would do.. and I bought my roller 351 complete for $350 with low(er) miles on it.
I don't see the point in spending so much money on such a mild setup. By the time you do all the port work and buy the GT40's, you'de have been better offer buying a set of AFR's or Trickflows for equal to, or a little more cash. If you have to - go buy a used set of heads to curb costs, as long as you know what you're looking at.
.. and I'd get a better fuel pump than that if you were going to bother buying a new one for future growing without issues.

I think some of you may have the wrong idea about what I'm trying to do here..
I'm trying to get a little bit more power (50-85 horsepower) and that's about it. I don't care how fast it gets me on the track because it'll never be anything other than a heavy, slow, un-aerodynamic convertible.
My goals for this project:
-Better looks (paint/suspension)
-A bit more power
-A bit more response on the throttle (current torque isn't all bad, but more is always nice)
I would assume that dumping a 351 into my car would cost a lot of money and would take a lot of time. I've also never done any work that extensive, so the odds of it working out well are..not good.

..And what would be my best option for finding a working 351 for a decent price?
