Default E85 anyone?

Odd, I searched E85 on the forums and nothing came back... Has anyone considered switching? A simple fuel system upgrade, tune, and you're set to go. Guys around here (Minnesota) use E85 in there imports and their cars are nuts. 40, 50+ lbs of boost on a Honda??? Blowing Hayabusas out of the water (no joke), and they look at me like I'm freakin crazy running 15lbs on 92 octane.

show me a forced induction system for a 4 cylinder import capable of producing that much boost, and i'll show you a block with hundreds of holes in it.

There's also an SS Cobalt if you look in the kills section that has 30lbs of boost on it on a stock block and internals I believe.

I would be skeptical of 50 psi on that Honda as well, but that is beside the point. I am thinking of switching over to E85 over the winter, but I am not retarded enough to think a simple fuel change will have me blowing away Busa's either. Boost is nothing more than the measure of restriction in the intake, boost is not what kills engines, HP and detonation do. The advantage of E85 in a boosted engine is that it allows more aggressive timing, because of the high octane rating and it burns cooler. I would maybe see another 50-60 hp on a E85 switch. BTW I also run 15 psi on a stock short block.

I never said that a fuel system upgrade would score you a win against any bike, the upgrade scores you the ability to run E85. The Honda I pictured has however won that race, his trick. E85 and A LOT of boost...

I understand fully the entire process of an E85 switch. Not only have I considered it for my car, but I have friends who have the switch and are very pleased with it. Your original post is what made me think you had the idea that you are going to just switch to E85 and run 40-50 psi.
