Default looking in to buying a 5.0

i am looking in to buying a 5.0 mustang and wanna hear what you guys think because i don't know much about 5.0's and it's modded a lil and there are a couple problems with the car
heres what it is

1988 (not a gt but it's got a 5.0 hatchback, would that be a lx hatch?)
5speed
5.0 with
long tube headers (i assume their $129 summit racing generic headers)
bbk fwi
b303 cam
and a king cobra clutch (supposedly good for 400hp, pedal isin't heavy more springy if you know what i mean)

it was in the middle of being converted from speed density to mass air so it's using the maf as an adapter for the bbk fwi, how hard is it to do the sd/maf conversion?
like i said it's already got the maf but none of the wire are hooked up

also it will probably need a new hatch as the one on it is starting to rust by the latch and i think the latch is frozen because it closes but won't latch

so what do you think?
good car to get in to 5.0's?
i currently am driving an all origonal 1988 thunderbird turbo coupe with a factory t5 and love the 2.3t (and have even beat a couple stock 5.0's, don't mean to brag) but i don't know why i am just drawn to the 5.0 and mostly the fact that the aftermarket is so huge i can't even find parts to fix the turbo coupe when it brakes let alone mod it (well there are a few things but not like the mustang)
