For those who have done the battery relocation how long was your main ground wire?? I'm working on getting free parts together for stuff like that from vehicles over here that I work on. I have a 3/0 ground wire already with ens that is about 2 1/2 -3 feet long set to the side that I figured I would use.

that should be plenty long enough, all it needs to do is go to a good clean (bare) spot on the chassis (frame would be ideal). The ground on vehicle isn't really a ground its a neutral or negative wire, that uses the vehicle itself to complete the circuit. take an amp for example you wire the + straight to the batt. (through a fuse obviously) then "ground" it to the trunk, the electricity then goes through the chassis and up through the "ground" in the front of the car to the batt. a trunk mounted battery is wired basically the exact same as a trunk mounted amp except for where your + goes to

Same thing. I know it would be depending on how I routed it, I was just curious on others lengths.

its more of a bonding wire as it doesn't actually go to ground but yes your right. and that explanation was long and completely off topic, i had just gotten home from school... if have 2-3 feet what should be way more then enough as all you really have to do is go the hight of the battery say one foot, then through the floor boards so you have 1.5-2 feet to find a good connection.

Ummmmmm...... yea it does......the negative side of the battery to the body..... anyway thanks for the input and get back to school. The grounding wire from my motor to my chassis is my "bonding wire".

Thanks. I might have to chop up a set of slave cables for that . Those are just a big set of jumper cables for military vehicles. Prolly at least 4/0 or 5/0.....I think thats big enough lol.
