just picked up a motor, guy said it was out of a 90 to 92 gt.
im shooting for 400 flywheel horse or about 350 wheel horse. 331 stroker, cam, either port the factory heads or wait a while and get some used aftermarkets. i've found some used trick flows for about 600. 670 street avenger probably unless you say otherwise.
Either scat rotating assembly or eagle, havent decided yet. forged rods, cast crank, not sure if i want/need forged pistons.
Now dont want a "race motor", i want a good street motor that i can rely on.

i havent picked anything out yet. im going to have to research all these parts and see what goes together and see how people have got results from these.
if 350 rwhp is your goal, there are a few combos that can easily do that, I personally like the 347, it is just as reliable as a 331, either way choose your bottom end and if using a stock roller block don't waste money on a forged rotating assembly except for pistons, use a 185-195 cc head, afr185 or tfs fast as cast head, single plane or dual plane edelbrock such as victor jr or rpm air gap, I like the custom cam option , but if you don't want such a comp xe 274 or xe 282 and at least a 750 holley hp and all supporting mods such as gears and exhaust and 350 rwhp will be a breeze

update: i found some AFR 185s for 800 bucks! used but still AFR and from what i have been reading, those are top notch! they have the upgraded valvetrain to handle 600 lift i believe is what he said. i've been looking at flow charts and these flow over 100 cfm better then the e7's lol.
So now for the cam and intake. im still going 331, i keep fearing of oil consumption for the 347. i dont need to go with TOO big of a cam cause i need the vacuum for my power brakes.

that's because your to caught up in the myth, why buy good flowing heads then choke them with a small cam, if you want good vaccum the duration on the cam can be designed light and lots of lift be give, I just had such a cam designed with my 306 .550+ lift and under 220 duration.....your best option would be a custom gring to give you what you want/need
