They don't have sensors for 0-60

But luckily top speed at 1/8 mile is 60ish, and it was measured by light beams

And if it's true that 95 GT can reach 60 mph in sub 7 sec, then you have to be totally drunk to miss 4 seconds on a stopwatch +/-2 ok, but 4...

I'll tell you the results from inspection.

I will start checking stuff tomorrow. Shame that dyno run costs about 60$

I'm from Latvia.

You need to get to a real 1/4 mile track. Trying to measure with stopwatch is useless.

Well, we don't have 1/4 mi tracks here. There are only 2 1/4 mi races during the whole drag race season and you have to go 120 miles to get to the track, which is equipped for the race day only. There you are given 2 qualification rounds, and then you're out because you're too slow to qualify.

1/8 mile times are the only ones that are automated and that you can go to for practice.

My brother took the car to the service today, they replaced air and fuel filters, but the car is still behaving pretty much the same way.

Guys over there told that timing is most likely nonadjustable, as ECU compensates for it, but it could be that the cats are clogged.

Somehow I also tend to believe that it's most likely a cat/exaust issue, but the welder was not available today, so we are removing the cats tomorrow.

Does anyone know which bungs the cats are on Mustangs when you look from the engine side, there are like 6 of them, the 2nd?

AFAIK, the best way is to weld straight pipe in place of a cat, as the gutted cat will do some velocity/back-pressure changes that are not good on NA car's most of the time, and will make a bad sound? Cat's are ok to remove on these cars, right?

I don't know much about how exhaust behaves on non-turbo cars, all I know is that there's some kind of wizardry where big pipes are no-no

P.S.: Does anyone know a PDF link to a 95 GT service manual. I would really like to take a look at it, I hate guessing how stuff works on this car. And Google didn't found anything.

The timing can be adjusted. Just get a timing light and have at it. You will need to run premium. You can bump your timing from 10 degrees STOCK to 14-16 safely. Also, clean your MAF(mass airflow sensor) with electrical contact cleaner. It's easy to do and will take 10 minutes. Also, do not expect a 0-60 time of 7 seconds to be fast. It's not even that quick. Also, if you have 2.73 gears, your car is going to be a turd.

On some cars ECUs will still override the manual setting. It's great if Mustang doesn't do that.

By premium you mean 93 Octane (98 EU), or 91? Owners manual has ridiculously low octane 87 (Canada), no idea what's that in EU.

Ok, I will note that.

Well, 7 seconds or lower are starting to get pleasant to drive, I have a second car that reaches 60 below 7 seconds, and it feels snappy.

But 11 seconds like Mustang does now is simply awful, that's like 185% slower than what it's supposed to go, and while reaching only 11 mpg. So right now, 7 seconds is simply great compared to this

The total timing is adjusted by the ECU, but you can still adjust the base timing by using a timing light and adjusting the distributor.
