My cars a 95 so i don't know how much use it would be to you, but I put my switch( http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-830051/ ) in the spare tire well and through the rear bumper. heres a picture:
not the most inconspicuous place but i think it blends in well.

i've always thought about getting one of those trick license plate mounting brackets that sticks out like an inch and a half, and folds down. mount behind it.
I know bernie has a pretty sweet license plate setup, I think he used one of those hinged license plate brackets that you used to find on the old cars from the 70s
