Default Will engine and rear from cougar work in a foxbody?

I have started my 4 cylindar fox swap project and I have been looking for a 8.8 rear and motor. While scouring the salvage yards today the only thing I could find was an 88 Mercury Cougar with what looks like the 302 windsor still intact and the rear end.

my question is will the rear end from the v8 cougar fit in my 93 fox and would it be a direct fit? and is the 302 windsor in the cougar worth it?

The 5.0 in the 88 mercury were rated at 155 horsepower. Are you planning to rebuild the motor or anything? If not I would keep the 4 cyl imo. The rear end in those I dont know anything about tho

it'll be a direct fit, but its not the 225BHP rated 5.0L H.O. of the 87-93 Mustang GT

what about the rear end? i just read that only a few of the cougars had the 8.8 rear in it mainly the XR-7 model, i didnt check to see if it was the XR-7 or the LX however I figure if it had the V8 that it has got to have ther 8.8 rear in it. will that rear bolt up to the fox body?
