Question Top end engine kit -cobra

I am trying to do some research for next year (when I have $$). I really would like to do some good top end motor work. I am really new to the fox scene here and need info. If I got this kit: http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/item/LRS-6049A-K and put it on my car what kind of hp # would I be looking at? I know that there isnt 1 magical kit out there that will give me insane numbers, but what can I expect to the wheel? I have a 302 bored 40 thou over (so its a 308), a/c delete, cai, headers, and thats about basically it. If you think there is a better route with the money let me know.

thanks

you could build better for the same money. start looking at everyones builds here, dyno sheets, etc. find out what you want. piecing it together is harder but cheaper most times, and makes more power.

f that package. outdated cam, weak intake, so so heads. it'll net you 240-260rwhp. not worth the money IMHO. i'd find a better package or piece together your own.

for that same amount of money (around $2k+) if I piece together my own kit, what kind of hp # could I get? I mean if its the difference between like 10-20 hp (between this kit or my own) I would like to know.

i think the better question should be. what are your goals? what kind of car are you wanting it to be? are you doing the work yourself? budget? whats currently done to your vehicle?

with properly selected parts you can net around 300hp.

ill send you the same thing i sent on another thread

honestly if ur gonna get those parts find them used.. not at all worth the money for them new for the amount of power you get. gt40 and p heads can be had for like $300-400 ready to go and the intake for like 200. and that cam for $100. then a gasket kit for like 100.

i have the aluminum gt40x heads that i got a good deal on but i wish i still had more for the amount of time and work i put in. mine is a DD as well.

in all honesty save for a few more weeks and get the better kit. you will be much happier. used trickflow stuff is hard to come by

my hci setup including everything (all parts bought used besides gaskets, head bolts and timing chain)

$600 - gt40x aluminums
$100 - f303 cam
$150 - gt40p intake (i made a deal and got mine for free)
$120 - gaskets
$100 - ProM Maf
$100 - 24# injectors
$150 - accufab TB
$40 - timing chain
$45 - arp head bolts

$1405 total + other nickel and dime crap

and $350 of that is stuff not in the kit plus my heads are better

so u could but all that in the kit for like $800

im guessing my rwhp will be around 270ish. im hopefully goin to the dyno soon

I would like to have around 300rwhp + on my car after the top end work. Eventually I would probably supercharge it and really want my goal to be around 400hp.

how do you plan on handling that power? you want all the muscle but no go huh? i'll say it once and i'll say it a 10000000 times. build up your suspension first before you touch the motor.

thanks for showing me that list. i would be working on the car myself (with some help) so labor shouldnt really be an issue. i just want to have a decently well built motor (for street/strip use) at a decently affordable price. i am curious to see what you dyno at, let me know!

i completely understand building up the suspension is very crucial. i said EVENTUALLY i would like to have that much power. doing the top end would add a decent amount of power, what should i do to stiffen up the suspension and make sure not to torque the frame? subframe connectors? what else? i know there are endless things to do, but what is necessary in order to run a well built car?
