Default suggest a cam for my buddy

My buddy's doing some motor work over the winter, and asked me about picking a cam that'll work nicely, but I don't know much about suggesting cams, i always just say custom but his setup is very mild and I don't think he needs one.

here's his setup...
'88 302 aod, speed density(i'm trying to talk him into switching over)
gt40 head/intake
full exhaust(hooker headers, bbk h/flow's dumped)
explorer tb and cai
4.10 gears

He was thinking the tfs stage 2 but I don't know if that'd be too much for him?
How big of a cam can you put in a stock bottom end 302?
