I had the exact problem with my 89. Turned out to be fuel pump. Just because there is some fuel pressure does not mean there is enough fuel pressure. To test fuel pressure, connect a gauge to the schraeder valve on the fuel rail. I believe it needs to be approx 40psi. An easier indication that this is the problem is to turn the key to on (not start, not cranking the engine), and listen for the fuel pump. If you don't hear it run for a second or two, it is not pressurizing, and may well be you're problem.

I agree Notch. You need to hook up a fuel pressure gauge to see how much pressure is actually there when it won't start.
Also, a new TFI module does not always guarantee a good module.
