i am thinking about buying a 347 kit and dont really know a whole lot about stroker motors in general. what is required for this kind of job? does this include boring, changing internals, etc? and if anyone has already done this i want to ask if the power gain was worth the money and trouble? thanks

yes a 347 would be a bore .030 block and 3.4 stroke. you will take everything in the stock engine block and throw it away as far as rods, crank, pistons, you will need to get the block clearanced for the rods and have the assy. balanced. HP gains would be 50 HP at the very minimum but torque is gone to go up also and that is one of the great things. with the right comb of parts 347s are killer engines

As someone here said, you need to relieve (grind) the bottom of the cylindr bores for rod clearance.
The new rotating assembly will need to be balanced with the dampner and flywheel/flexplate that you are going to use. Have that done locally.
I think you'll find that you can buy a shortblock thats already a 347 from several places and it's already assembled. That would be the way to go if you are nor real familar with engine machining/assembly.
