and please excuse me if this is a stupid question, but just wondering. When I'm looking at aftermarket parts for a 94 cobra, are they the exact same as a 94 gt? Parts are pretty much interchangeable right? Just wondering b/c I was looking at cams on AM and where it says what model they are for it doesn't say cobra anywhere, just 5.0 gt, but the cam would work correct, and that goes for the other parts as well right, unless stated other wise?

I realize this isn't related to your questions, but you do realize that you'll need mod that thing pretty well to be compariable to your 00 gt?
My buddy has a 95 Cobra with a Trick Flow HCI package, full bolt ons, gears, custom dyno tune, and is no faster than my "bolt ons only" 04 gt. Another friend has a 94 Cobra with just gears and a few bolt ons, and i smoke him pretty good.
So, i'd consider a poweradder, or go with that LS1 if it were me personally. I had a 98 Z28, and wish i would've taken the motor with me when i sold it lol.

I would go for the Cobra. It was owned by the same person for 100k, it is nearly stock, and looks clean. I think this is a very solid car to buy. LS1s are faster, but I am not a fan of the 'plasticky' interior, no trunk and the ugliest looking small block ever.

stock for stock the two cars are within a couple tenths of each other. a 5.0 with full bolt ons and a HCI swap should be in the 12s or damn close to it. A lot of times the driver mod just isn't there.

That could be, but in my case my buddy can definantly drive. His 95 puts down 300 rwhp (to my 270 rwhp) and it's usually a drivers race. We were both surprised with his extra 30 hp that he really wasn't any faster. Funny thing is that he's slightly faster at the track, but on the street we're basically dead even.

thats because on the street, his low end TQ isnt able to be used to its full capacity. Where as your GT, has a higher RPM HP peak, therefore, at anything other than low end, your car would pull with all other things being equal. Put me in your buddies car, and i bet you would have a farts chance in he wind of catching up.

Actually his max rpm peaks (compared dyno sheets) 200 later than mine, and holds for another 200 rpm further on the high end. Obviously it's due to his HCI setup.
I'd be surprised if you could drive it any better...no offense! I've watched him drive, and he is very quick on the shifts. Not to toot my own horn, but i'm no slouch either lol. So, all in all it's a very fair race.

well lets see some time slips then. I see alot of mods on your car, but minus the nitrous, it looks like its still just a 13 second ride
