Default trans question

I just purchased a t5 off of ebay for $205 shipped. the description did not specify what vehicle it was for it just said it was the electric version. is there any differences between the t5's in other cars or should this one bold up to the bell housing and work fine? i have a 94 gt by the way.

got a link to the one you bought?? you need a t-5 for a 94-95 mustang, fox mustangs/83-93 t-5's had shorter input shafts and to use such in a sn-95 ,input shaft must be switched to the longer style and if you bought a 4 cyl one you won't be able to switch easily and the t-5 you purchased above all must be for a mustang, they made chevy t-5's and they were different

i found out after doing some reading that the ford and gm t5 have different input and output shafts. can i just change out the input and output shafts and make it work if it is not the right transmission?

Not a ford t5. Your best bet is to clean it up and craigslist it. It looks like its from a s10.

For your 94 you can utilize a t-5 from the 94-98 V6 cars as well as the GTs. Just a helpful tip

If you have a local PYP, theres a good place to look. Its great to find them out of V6 cars, because you have to figure it wasnt beaten on that hard.
