The Cobra uses gt40 heads, and a cobra(gt40) intake. The pistons are hyper, not forged. If It is available to you I'd do it.

you'll have to hunt to just find one. they would be scarce because there werent a whole lot of 1993 cobras made. Supporting mods are a must. Why dont you want o do them? I'd start out with gears, exhaust, MAF conversion, ud pullies if I were you. You can find gt40 heads and intake for pretty cheap and install them yourself.

don't waste your time, you won't gain any hp unless you "bolt -on" better parts to your current motor, work with what you have, I seriously doubt you'd find a cobra motor in tact, explorer motor is your best bet

Ok, the shortblock in the 93 Cobra is the same shortblock that is in all 93-95 5.0L's. Cobra motors have GT40 heads that have been shaved slightly to raise compression, a cobra intake, roller rockers, and a different cam. You will be better off using your 87 shortblock if you ever thing about boost or nitrous because they have forged pistons. Just forget about buying a cobra motor and go junk yard hopping for a complete explorer motor. You will still have GT40 heads and a better than stock intake.
