Default 50resto 5.0 economy block???

i have a 85 lx and my stock block is in terrbile condition. Im looking for a new block but dont need to spend alot because i will not be using a power adder of any kind. I will be putting gt40 heads on with cobra rockers and an E-cam. do you guys recommend going with the budget 302 block that late model restoration makes??? my stang is my toy street car for the summer. feel free to leave any recommendations.. thanks!

why not find a junkyard 302 and building that up? find a wreck, not one that looks like it was driven there

If what you listed is all that you will be doing then that will be just fine for your app. If you found a junkyard engine you would spend about that or more anyway on purchasing it and having the machine work done. Not to mention new bearings, seals and rings..

Sounds like a pretty good deal, I'm liking their forged block they sell. But as stated, you'd spend that much, if not more, to have all that work done to your current block.

Heck I purchased a recently rebuilt 302 on the corral for 650.00 and had a performance cam and all and forged pistons
