Default Just got a 94 GT, what should I do?

Ok I picked up a 94 GT 5spd it has 240k miles on it. The body is in great shape, the paint is in awesome shape for being 16 years old. And the interior is a 8/10
I only paid $1200

Considering the miles, what should I do to this thing?

Should I build it up and if the engine or tranny goes just pick one up? I've been seeing some HO 5.0s for $900 shipped

I got about $2,500 to throw into

first thing I would do is a really good tune up. Fuel filter, cap, rotor, wires, clean the maf, clean the t/b, oil change with z-max, and then cai

Ok no problem, Ill probably do that over the next 2 weeks.

FYI, I used to have 2 4.6s several years ago. My dad is the one that picked up this car but Im going to use it as my play toy since he has 2 other cars he can use incase something happens.

But I do live in cali so it has to stay street legal

Whats the best sound exhaust for a 5.0 mustang? I put an o/r x pipe with 1 chamber flows on my 4.6s and loved it.

If you want legal, on my car i have shorty equal length headers, catted h pipe with hi flow cats, and flow master 40's. Sounds good to me, I'm in cali also so gotta keep in legal for smog.

IMO, leave the car mostly stock and save for any unexpected problems with it. 240k is a lot of miles.

Is it the ORIGINAL engine? Do you know if it has been toyed with? With that many miles I sure wouldn't put FORCED AIR in it. It would be BLOW-BY city, through the RINGS, and through the PCV valve and Valve Covers.
