Default Iron eagle or SHP Dart block

As i get closer to my build im doing more research and I now see that Dart has the SHP block. What is the major difference between the Iron Eagle Sportsman and the SHP blocks, and is it work the extra 400 bucks to get the Sportsman?

How much HP do you plan on making. the Iron Eagle will take upwards of 2000 HP so they say SHP are the new cheaper blocks and will take lots of HP also but from what I have seen the metal is not as good as the Iron Eagle and the Sportsman is kind of in between the two Iron Eagle has 4 bolt mains on all 5 main caps and is a real serious piece. and is over kill in most applications. Really depends on how much HP you are gone to make.

that is a very conservative number. Brian a AD Performance says they have seen them at 1000hp or so. He is a dealer for Dart and builds full short blocks also.

Im looking for about 800 wheel when im done. I know the Sportsman will handle it I just didnt know if the SHP block would or not. It is going to be a 4.125 bore though and I know the Sportsman max overbore is .185 and i have heard the SHP if close to that too.
I am just comparing right now because i also noticed the price went up a couple hundred on Dart's website since they included the new SHP block on there.

I am also building mine this spring. I found fordstroker.com (found out through them on this forum). I buying the 347 Dart based Liberator Short Block. I think its a good price and I have heard a lot of good feed back. And it should handle upto 1000hp.

You really think he's still looking for a block after 3 years?
