The covert was about a foot or so off the edge but it drops about 6 inches off to it. Luckily it was just the rear that hit and not the front and rear. I hit the reflective pole and steered toward the road enough for the front to not hit but drive over the edge of it by the road. The one spot that had some what of a ditch is where I went.

Well I finally got the blown tire dismounted for free by a guy at Firestone. The wheel is in alot better shape than I thought. It just has the flat spot on the outer lip and a small one on the inside lip. BUT the sealing area and the wheel as a hole still spins evenly. We will see how it looks when I work out the flat lips.

As for the rear end.... I removed both wheels and drums and the passenger axle spins alot more freely but the whole passenger side is pushed back by almost an inch. I haven't found the main reason yet though. I have noticed that one of the spot welds for the floor pan to lower torque box area started to rip out (very minor issue). I have pulled the shocks and springs out so the rear is just hanging by the control arms right now. Tomorrow I will yank the driveshaft, brake line and unbolt the control arms to completely remove the rear. Then I can start checking out everything and see what is really messed up. The more that I look at the rear end itself the less it looks like the problem. I will def be able to tell when I pull the axles though (how much resistance there is going in and out of the trac loc). Once out I can do some messureing and comparing.

If there is any structural damage to the car that I really don't want to mess with then I might be scrapping the whole car and putting everything into the 83 and bringing it back to life. Then the body will go to the junk yard or I will cut it up and make my money back in scrap metal. BUT that all depends on the body.

Just as you can obviously see in this pic the passenger tube is bent back. I do have a deal worked out with a buddy but I am waiting on him to do what he needs to so I can get his old rear from him. IDK how long that will be.

Other pics.

Then this crappy pic of the 93 with the 98's stock wheels up front.
