ok,AT THE FLYWHEEL, on a stuska powertest dyno, Mine made 426hp at 5800 and 443 tq at 4300 with 400 lb ft at 2600. That ought to get you to 360-370 at the tires with a 5 speed....here is the combo
I was not shocked, but impressed. Goes like this....
Eddelbrock performer 5.0's (they were on the car when bought)
... a lot of exhaust work, only bowl work on intake side, chambers worked.
Steeda #19 cam 220/226@.050 115LSA
Valve springs at 145 seat/365 open(PBM #3425)
Cobra/Crane 1.7 rockers
347" PBM stroker assy...3.400 stroke/4.030 bore Spec'd w 5.315 rods and Mahle 16cc dish(331 stroker piston due to rod change)8.9 Comp ratio - (V1 Strim set up)
Canton girdle and 7 qt pan with windage tray
This was run naturally aspirated with a 750 carb/dual plane Stealth intake and HEI
In the car it is on Injection with 60 lb/hr injectors, cobra u/l(ported and welded of course) and Aeromotive fuel rails,PMASS 90mm maf,and the Vortec.

347 with a sc and it only made 426 and the block? should have made over 500 at the tire

to the OP, do the suspension, sub frames and gears. itll be a whole new car. and if adder is willing to come to your house and lend you a hand, jump on that deal NOW!!!!

Suspension, tires and the Bondurant School of Driving(or whatever in your area). You'll be 10x safer that way and understand how to drive...not just in a straight line either. After a performance driving school you may decide you want to build the car differently, say for AutoX or road racing, instead of drag racing.

You misread...426hp/443tq at fw - that was nat aspirated with carb and hei. with the charger it is at 480,at a peak of 7 lbs at 5800, very mild. Stock block and girdle need to hang in there or it would be cranked to 530+ easily at tires

basically without changing out your pistons for more compression or using a power adder, your 302 will never make 350rwhp. possibly with the right heads, cam and intake and spin the motor to 8000rpm you might make it but im not sure. even then the stock bottom end probably wont do so well at that rpm so it still wouldnt matter
Thats not true at all. I'm running a set of GT40's, unported, with a ported Explorer intake, and a very small cam. I put down just a hair over 300 rwhp. The problem is, you really can't run a big cam with a stock short block, and the GT40 heads. So, 350 rwhp would probably be a bit tight. But ported heads, the right valve job, and as big of a cam as you can fit...I bet you'd be closer than you think.

thats exactly what im doing. right now im planning a combo for down the road. for this summer, im planning on a new frpp trak-lok differential, 3:73s, 31 spline 4 lug axles, 17x9 gt500style rims, and im going to redo the exhaust from headers back. winter 2010 im planning on a maximum motorsports sport box suspension and steeda upper and lower control arms, and my parents are going to pay for the car to get repainted. the year after that i am planning on a full engine rebuild.
