Default Need help getting to 350rwhp!

alright, so my 5.0 has 133,XXX miles on it and i bought it about 2 years ago. im looking to try to get about 350rwhp out of the engine and i am on a budget. what would be the best parts combo of getting here. would ported explorer gt40s and an explorer intake with a cam get me to where i want to be?

LOL not even close. might get you to 225rwhp. then spray a 125shot of nitrous on it. thatll get you to 350rwhp.

basically without changing out your pistons for more compression or using a power adder, your 302 will never make 350rwhp. possibly with the right heads, cam and intake and spin the motor to 8000rpm you might make it but im not sure. even then the stock bottom end probably wont do so well at that rpm so it still wouldnt matter

You would need lots of work. 347 stoker with a good h/c/i, or as previously said nitrous. And then supporting mods...

very low. im still in highschool so i dont have much money to spend. there is no way that i can go out and spend all my money on afrs so thats not an option. my thoughts were to go with a custom cam, ported/polished gt40s, explorer intake. i dont wanna start supercharging the engine because i dont plan on a rebuild anytime soon. im just looking for a quick way to boost the hp.

If you wanna go fast then get gears, and use your gt40s and intake. If you are on a budget for now then you should prolly stick with your stock cam. Upgrading your valve train(which is something you HAVE TO DO when upgrading your cam) is expensive.

put together right and with all supporting mods you can get close to 300, there is a guy over on the corral that IIRC rants about his budget build and it dyno'ed over 300rwhp and he used simple off the shelf parts IIRC....
