I do not power-shift it or drive it hard. I'm an old guy who has been around cars for long enough to know that the way I'm driving it should not be breaking it. I shouldn't have to worry about accelerating in 2nd gear, and that's the way they keep breaking. it doesn't break during a shift, it breaks while accelerating in 2nd. I can't imagine you running a 10 second pass without accelerating in 2nd gear. In fact, my guess is that you've got the skinny pedal buried to the floor to do a 10 second pass whereas I'm breaking them not even close to full throttle.

So to everyone that says it's the way I drive I assure you that is not what is going on. It has been rebuilt by the same place each time so I am starting to think perhaps they are part of the reason it continues to break.

I'm shocked I havent cause mine to explode yet *knock on wood* I peat the **** out of that trans. But I don't get any traction. I'd like to race in the future and I have a bad feeling once I get the car to hook up good I'm gonna be in for it.

that's why i'm so disapointed. i don't beat on mine but i keep dropping $650 to have it rebuilt. it's also why i gotta start thinking the place that's rebuilding it for me might not be doing it right.

Yes sir! We have a winner! Go to another shop. Is not correct for this to happen time again. Let that shop learn transmission repair on other folks money.

agreed. shame on me for bringing so many transmissions to them. the first one i had done by them should have turned me off; it was for a toyota truck i had and it never shifted right after their rebuild.

well here's an update. i bought a ford racing t5 m-7003-z. i'm happy with it. especially the 2.95 first gear. i love the 1-2 shift now since it's not such a huge jump like the stock transmission. i'm convinced the shop that had been rebuilding my old t5 were not doing a good job and that's why it kept breaking.
