What color wire in the inertia switch would I splice into to run a switch to cut off the power to it without having to open the trunk all the time? The car is a 93. Another question, is the wiring to the inertia switch the same on 4cyl's and 5.0's?

Dark green/Yellow is the wire going into the switch that you would want to cut and run your new wire to. Be sure and use a key-on power source, don't just give your new switch full time battery power.
Brown/Pink is the wire coming out of the switch that leads to the pump, if you wish to use that wire instead, but you will be losing the functionality of the inertia switch.

Since the switch has three poles on it, can you tell me how to wire it. I have never wired in a cutoff switch, so im lost on how to make it work properly.

More than likely it's an On-Off-On style switch, meaning that you would put your incoming power source to the middle prong, and put your output wire to the side of the switch that you intend to use. Be sure and read the instructions for the switch, you might need to use the opposite prong from the way you flip it.

the third prong is just a ground to make the light inside light up.

I had this switch laying around so I do not have any instructions for it. So how can I tell which of the three poles is for the wire from the inertia?

Just gonna have to try it out and see. It will either work, or it won't. If it doesn't, switch sides.

I cleaned the switch and it has the numbers 1 on the 1st post, 2 on the middle post and 3 on the last post. I am going to take a guess and say #1 is for the wire from the inertia switch, #2 is for the 12v source, and #3 is for the new wire to control the inertia switch when the toggle switch is on. Does that sound right?
