Default Clunk when shifting into 3rd with new manual valve body

So I just had a TCI reverse manual valve body put in my C4 and I put in a new hurst quarter stick. So far, it's awesome. Disgustingly hard shifts, not to mention it chirps the tires shifting into 2nd at 2k rpm's lol The only thing is, theres a loud clunk when i shift into third.

Any ideas?

Matt, do me a huge favor and if you find out please let me know! I have the same problem and it's driving me crazy! I have a 93 fox body with c4 reverse manual valve body (fully built) and have had this issue checked and they insist nothing is wrong and that is just in the way the clutches are engaging in the transmission and that they could get rid of the clunk by reducing line pressure but doing this would not be good. I find it hard to believe that we should have to accept this "clunk". it's terrible and even embarrassing if your giving someone a ride. Mine only does it from 2nd to 3rd but it's bad! Maybe we can compare a lil bit and figure this **** out! Thanks, Mike

Does it clunk when you are under a load? Like if you let off and shift does it still do it? I also have the TCI and will sometimes get a TINY clunk if I shift to third with no load on the trans. How bad is yours clunking?

Default clunk

Hey there! thanks a million for your reply and interest in trying to figure this out! It will make a "clunking" noise whether you are sitting still in a parking lot shifting from 2nd to 3rd or if you are cruising down the road. When you are just cruising down the road the clunk is pretty bad. The only time the clunk is gone is when you are "on it" If you are racing, it doesn't seem to be there at all. Also, this doesn't seem to be a tci problem because I dont have a tci. I have a c5 case (just like c4) with solid drum, hardened input shaft etc etc...reverse manual valve body. Thanks a ton for your help. Any ideas are really appreciated
