Technically they're cast high nodular iron, which is basically cast steel. Power doesn't break cast cranks generally, rpm does. If you're worried about power breaking the crank, you'll break the block before breaking the crank. High rpm can cause them to come apart though, but most street/strip cars aren't even turning enough rpm to break them either.
