Default Smog pump

How necessary is the smog pump? I want to get rid of id because i just have the smog pump pipe that runs to the cats dangling around. Can i get rid of without any problems, like engine performance?

feel free to remove everything attached to it, you'll have to plug the back of the heads or plug the hard line that runs between the heads

If Oregon does not do inspection/emissions then just get rid of it like primetime 5.0 said.

Oregon doesn't even open the hood, they just put the "Sniffer" in the exhaust. What do I plug the holes with?

the holes in the heads can be plugged up with a couple 5/8-11 bolts, no longer than 1".
