Default T-5 Gearing?

hey guys so i have decided to rebuild my t-5 while it is out of the car. i have not opened it up yet so not sure exactly what i have, all i know is that it is a wc t-5. in research i have seen that the gearing varies especially 1st and 5th. from what i understand the major 2 types of 1st is 3.35 and 2.95 i am sure that is not exactly the gears but i am sure u guys know what i mean. so the 2.95 is a taller gear? if it is i would like to change mine to a 2.95 if it is not already. the reason for this is bc i think with my 3.73's it will make 1st more usable. it is 99% street car may see the strip once in a great while. as for 5th i was thinking a taller gear would be my best bet as it will only be an overdrive/highway gear. any tips would be great thanks mike

look at the tag on the case.... after 1352 there are 3 numbers... what are they ?

it should be a 1352-169 and 3.35, the 2.95's were the "z" trans or other aftermarket trans.

86.5-89 Mustang 5.0 265ft/lbs
1=3.35 2=1.93 3=1.29 4=1.00 5=0.68 R=3.15
7t drive gear which is nice cuz u can correct up to 3.73 properly with a 21t driven

you'll need a new cluster and the appropriate gear to convert a normal 3.35 t-5 to a 2.95 = gonna cost some beans

seriously... and seriously?

idk if I should be offended at the fact that you are asking me what kind of condition its in. If I wasnt replacing it with an auto, I wouldnt be taking it out.

As for its being stock... its Tremec 3550. the only car that came stock in, was the '95 R!

You wouldnt need anything to install it, as it would all be included in the sale! As for the price, PM me... i dont wanna get spanked by the mods for B/S/T in the general forum.
