The PO gave me a Haynes manual Iv been reading threw it quite a bit. Im ordering 2 floor pans tonight and picking up some missing parts. What carb do you guys suggest? a 650? Brand? Also i would love to get an MSD ignition kit but their like 650 bucks.. What else would you guys suggest? A cheaper after market brand from a part source or napa? Also i need a fuel pressure regulator because the previous owner says right now the fuel pump would be pushing out like 18PSI and ill need to tune that down to 4-5 PSI? Does that sound right?

Just stick with a stock distributor. Get a 600 carb and set at 6psi.

Thank you!

Ok the number on the carb says 1406? Btw here are some pics of the floors. I took the seats out to check how bad the floors really are and they need to be replaced. My only concern was how far up the firewall they were rusted and how far the replacement pans reached. Check these out and let me know what you guys think. I was also worried about the rust on the driver side reached the rocker pannels because the hole is soo close. From what i can see the rockers are solid from under and the rot is right up against them..

Also.. My pinch welds are rotted out under the rockers.. What do you guys suggest?

The 1406 is a 600CFM with an electric choke. Again the choke mechanism has been removed for some reason.

This is a 1406 so you can compare it. As you can see the air horn has been modified. I would as WTF the previous owner was thinking.

looks like the carb is a blow through set up might b wrong but you have to remove choke choke tower stuff like that to convert. it may be jetted larger as well i dont know anything about edelbrok i did a holly 750. if your lucky who ever did it knew what they were doing and hooked up the engine as well!!

Thanks stangfreak ill look into that. I got a question. The harness he gave me in the engine bay doesn't have a computer hooked up to it. The computer I found in a separate box says 3.0 ford taurus only. It doe not fit onto my harness. But it does fit onto a different harness he left in a box for me. I'm assuming that computer doesn't belong on my harness.. Or I have the wrong harness in the engine bay?
