If you are unsure of the motor/tranny and don't have receipts, your probably better off keeping it and taking your chances.

Depends on how much money you have to throw at this project and ultimately where you want it to go.

I would fix it personally. Floorpans are easy to come by and I always liked a t-top car. But for me it wouldn't be a daily driver so the potential leaking tops wouldn't bother me. I dated a girl for awhile that had a nice 85 t-top GT 5-speed. Black with grey int. Beautiful car. I would have bought it after we split if I would have known it was for sale. A good set of frame connectors will keep the car from twisting and causing leaks over time.
