How much would someone charge to swap an engine?

^lol, my boss still charges the same price on labor he did thirty years ago. That is why he is so cheap. He realizes his cost of living has gone up but, also realizes everyone elses has too.

Usually he is busy enough to make up for it. Recently, it has slowed down a lot. It is not that poeple don't need their cars fixed, it is with the price of gas and everything else, they can't afford to if it still runs until they absolutly need it. The easy jobs alot of people do on their own now. No kidding, over the past few months, I have been making more money than he has. I still get paid reagardless.

He has improved though starting today. We put an engine in one of those p.o.s. 02 Altimas today. When we got done and he was figuring the bill, I told him the same thing guy that posted earlier posted, "300 to pull it and 300 to put it in." That is what he charged. A few weeks ago, when we jerked an engine out of a 99 Chevy truck to drill and tap the back exhaust bolts that always fall off just after miles, he charged 450.
