Looking to upgrade stock 5.0
Alright just bought 1995 bone-stock 5.0 mustang. Im looking to put a little more kick in its step. What are some ideas for me or things you have found to work for your pony? Im looking to start with air-filter, headers, exhaust, distributer. What are good brands or parts to look for? Or should i go a different route on upgrading my motor?

pick one...you cant have them both
if you wanna yank the tires...get 4.10's
if you want 24 mpg keep the 2.73's
fyi i gps'd my car the other day
pretty sure at 1500, 2500 and 3000 rpm
i was going 45, 65, 80
i say 4.10's, et streets and a bit of juice. but thats just too too easy to go 12's that way.

No reason to swap out the distributor unless something's wrong with it. Just replace the cap and rotor. And if you either don't know how old the plugs and plug wires are or if you know they're old then do those too.
Everything else you mentioned is good but I'd replace the whole stock airbox if I were you instead of just the filter. Looks much nicer and you'll need the better airflow later if you start getting serious with the mods (and you probably will).

Back in the day I had a 95GT 5/spd with just basic mods. After having been there done that.. here is what I'd do if I were to do it all over.
I'd suggest:
3.73s or 4.10s.
Rebuild the stock trac lock diff with an upgrade kit and shim it on the tight side.
High flow mid pipe
American thunder flowmasters
Shifter
Rear suspension lower control arms
New progressive rate springs
17" wheels / tires & alignment
Plugs, wires, cap & rotor
New temp sensors (both)
Clean the throttle body, IAC, and MAF
Have the injectors professionally cleaned
Underdrive pullies
Aftermarket intake w/conical air filter
Once those things are done you'll have a good foundation to start to think about adding power w/cam, heads, ect...
Only thing I did that really was not worth the money was a chip & shortie headers.
The big things that you will notice are gears, high flow mid pipe ( I had no cats), american thunder flowmaster kit, cleaning the injectors (mine only had 60k miles and it was noticable), and the underdrive pullies.
The progressive rate springs were on a friends 94GT. And I had always wished I had done that. Made a nice difference.
