It will bolt up no problem but the overall length may cause your tires to rub the wheel wheel. I believe the 2000 is more than 3/4" wider so either research or measure it. You'll then need to buy wheels that have an offset that will compensate for the wider track. Sure you could have the tubes and axles shortened but the cost is going to be more than its worth.

your question is very miscategorized btw, but I just installed a turbo coupe rear end in mine that is 3/4 wider per side also, and I do not run into tire rubbing issues. In fact, caused my cobra r's to line up flush with my quarter panels. If you intend to lower it, you will need to figure out how to prevent rub. Theres everything from converting the length of your axles, to different offset wheels to rolling the quarters up some, just depends what you intend to do

You also will need to convert the brake system to compensate for the disc conversion, rear drums have a much different setting than disc, I'm in the process of finishing this on mine

thankyou for your help. after looking at it i decided just to take off the backing plate frome the 2000 axle cause after looking at it i realized that it def not an 8.8 and must be off of a 2000 v6 not a gt.(rookie mustake i know) i have a new question tho. the backing pates bolted right onto my 86 rear end right where the drum breaks were bolted. if i go get 99-04 calipers, rotors and 5 lug axle shafts will this work?

your rear end didnt come with them on it? It should, I dont want to say 100%, but they usually keep things interchangeable. You will most likely have to do some brake line adapting

not really...

its gonna be almost 2" wider and the hardware is 12mm vs your 14mm so itll take a little bit of work...

IMO just find a 94-98 rear thats a direct bolt in for the most part
