Stroker Opinions

Stroker Opinions
I recently purchased an 84 GT for $500. It runs and drives and is in fairly good condition. Kid that I got it from had all the right intentions, but not the greatest methods. I have a build in mind but need opinions on the engine options. I am replacing the stock 4 speed with a T-5, will have a 3.73 or 4.10 rear either 8.8 or a 9". I am looking to make it a good streetable car with enough power to hold its own. I know that I wanna build a stroker...but am at odds with which one. 331/347 would be less costly since the car already has the 302 base. 393/408/418/427 would be more costly since I would need the 351W base to start with. I am looking for opinions or experiences with the stroker family.
Topping off the short block I am thinking of World Product heads aiming at 9.5-10.0:1 and at less than $500 fully assembled. 224/234 duration .496/.521 lift hydraulic cam; 650-750 cfm carb, edelbrock intake. Might go with a Edelbrock cam/head/intake combo for effeciency...but I digress.
Thanks in advance for any opinions...and please dont hesitate to offer ANYTHING for advice.
